When you think of vegan food do you picture salad? Or mayby tofu? Tempe? Jackfruit? Mansha Gordon of Go Vegan Bali is here to break the mold when it comes to vegan and vegetarian food. Her vegan ayam bakar (grilled chicken) and sate kambing (lamb sate) are insanely good – yes we got to try it. If you’re curious to find out what “vegan meat” is made out of and why it takes Mansha 2 or more days to prep, listen in to Episode 14.
More than just vegan meat, Mansha talks about the mix of cultures she grew up in and how her parents were a huge part of why she does what she does. You’ll hear about how she went from “blowing up” her tiny kitchen in China to practically living in (and loving) her kitchen here in Bali. She shares her passion for providing healthy and delicious options to vegans and non-vegans alike and why the hot topic of plastic and packaging is making things tricky for her fast-growing new business.
We had tons of fun sitting in Mansha’s kitchen watching her cook with her magical mama. They joke about their secret ingredient being love but there might be some truth to that because we LOVED everything we tasted (they didn’t pay us to say that.. promise!). After our honest chat about everything from moving to a new country to cheese addictions, we are sure you’ll love Mansha (and her food) as much as we did!
